Survey Suggests More Schemes will Succeed at Appeal
A recent survey carried out by Planning Magazine – the journal of the Royal Town Planning Institute has showed that some 69% of Local Authority planners fear the emerging National Planning Policy Framework will make it easier for developers to secure permission for schemes without the support of the Local Authority. The private sector on the other hand do not consider this to be as likely, with just 45% of respondents considering this would be the case. It remains to be seen how the final version of the National Planning Policy Framework will be worded, and how effective Neighbourhood Plans will be in controlling development in a local context.
