Enforcement Notices are served by Local Authorities in circumstances where an applicant has undertaken works or is carrying out a use without the benefit of planning permission. Unless the matter is extremely serious the Authority will usually write to you first to inform you of their concerns.
Enforcement action can ultimately result in you having to demolish the building you have erected, or ceasing the use you are carrying out. Professional planning advice is therefore strongly recommended.
Rob Duncan Planning Consultancy can advise you on your options if you are served with an enforcement notice or are notified of an allegation against you, including the preparation and submission of an appeal against the Notice.
