Survey Suggests More Appeals Likely
A recent survey carried out by Planning Magazine – the journal of the Royal Town Planning Institute has showed that some 90% of Local Authority planners, and 72% of Planning Consultants consider that the Government’s planning reforms will result in substantially more planning appeals over the next two years. This is largely due to the perceived conflict between the localism agenda, i.e. giving communities more control over what goes on in their areas, and the National Planning Policy Framework which places strong emphasis on approving sustainable new development.
