RTPI to Launch Myth-Busting Campaign
The Royal Town Planning Institute TPI will soon be launching a myth-busting campaign in a bid to ensure a better informed debate about the role of planning and the planning profession. The matter has arisen following comments made in a recent article in the Daily Telegraph in which the planning system came under criticism for restricting growth, and causing land values, mortgages and bills to be so high.
The RTPI aims to show that the planning system is effective in that developers cannot build what they like, where they like and when they like, and that for a small island the clamour for land is managed well. The campaign aims to dispel some of the myths surrounding the system and ensure a better informed debate about its role in managing and facilitating growth in this country.
