Successful Appeal – Design
Rob Duncan Planning Consultancy Ltd. was recently approached by an applicant to lodge an appeal against a refusal of planning permission for a two storey side extension and rear dormer window. The application had been refused on the grounds of its harm to the character and appearance of the building and the wider streetscene. Through a thorough assessment of the character of the existing property and surrounding area, and an analysis of fall back opportunities available to the appellant, we were able to demonstrate that the proposal was in keeping with its surroundings and would not be any more harmful than that which the appellant was already free to carry out. The appeal was duly allowed and planning permission granted.
