West Midlands Local Enterprise Partnership
A recently launched Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) is aimed at making planning services more business-friendly. The LEP is committed to improving the planning services offered by member Councils with the aim of ensuring they are focused on the importance of securing economic growth, speeding up the planning process and improving communication with applicants. The Councils who have signed up to the LEP are also committed to providing clear pre-application advice to applicants and running formal training programmes for their planning committee members. The LEP comprises of Stoke-on-Trent Council, Newcastle Borough, Staffordshire Moorlands, East Staffordshire, Lichfield, Tamworth, Stafford and South Staffs Councils.
